Coach says: 2-year captain. Toughest player I have ever coached. First Team All-conference as a Soph, breaking 3 school records. Junior year injuries his knee and plays through the injury while receiving 2nd team all-conference even not playing whole season. Great kid and excited about his senior year.”

Let’s get to know Tristyn:

How long have you been playing football?

I have been playing since I was around seven.

Why did you start playing football?

I just always enjoyed playing and watching it. I have no exact reasoning why I started, I just know I always enjoyed playing.

What are you most looking forward to this upcoming season?

I am looking forward to having a winning record and making playoffs this year.  For me I am looking forward to receiving my first offer.

Who or what is your biggest motivation?

I would say my dad is my biggest motivation.

What is a favorite moment with the team or play you remember from your high school career?

I would say my favorite moment was when we stopped the game for the announcer to announce the records I just broke.

What are you going to miss most about the team when you gradate?

I am going to miss all the fun we have and brotherhood. I am sure I am going to have that in college, but I feel like in high school it is just a different feeling.

Do you have any advice for underclassmen?

For the underclassmen I would say to not be afraid to be that guy. You have nothing to lose so just go do it.

What is your favorite pre-game song?

As a team we usually play Dreams and Nightmares in the locker room before every game, so I would say that.

What is your pre-game routine?

I will start as soon as school ends on a home game. So, we go down to the locker room and hangout till it is time to go eat. After all our food is digested and we are relaxed we go down to the locker room and get a light lift to get our blood flowing. We usually go out onto the field after that and get a light speed and agility workout in and stretch out with bands. Then we get out onto the field as a team.

What is your favorite movie?

My favorite movie is The Batman.

What do you do for fun when not playing football?

I enjoy playing video games.

What is your favorite professional sports team?

For football it is the Bengals, for baseball I like the Braves.

If you did not play football what is another fall sport you would play?

I would probably say hockey, because I played that when I was younger.

What is your dream job (besides a professional football player)?

I am not too sure. Maybe something that involves numbers because I like math or recently, I have been thinking of being a physical therapist.

What is your favorite meal?

My favorite meal is hibachi steak with fried rice or General Tso.

If you could visit any place in the world, where would you visit and why?

Probably Hawaii so I can swim in the clear blue water.

What is your favorite part of being a Norwin student?

Being at Norwin it is really easy to make friends through sports, and all of my teachers have always been great, so I like that about Norwin.
