Both Dallas and Abington Heights had something to prove tonight and they only stood in each other’s way. Dallas came into the game at 0-2 and in uncharted territory, white Abington Heights came in at 1-1 and under the radar. Dallas got the ball to start the game and just like Abington Heights, they struggled to score points until the 2nd quarter when Dylan Geskey got the Mountaineers on the board. Abington Heights didn’t like that very much as they not only kicked a field goal to cut the lead to 4, but they got the ball back and scored a touchdown with a minute and some change left. This ended up putting Dallas on their heels, but that’s comfortable for Dallas kicker Rowan Laubach who drilled a 47 yard field goal to tie it at 10 going into the half.
Both teams couldn’t figure each other out again in the 2nd half, but a breakthrough from the Comets’ offense put them up 17-10 and they didn’t look back from that moment on. Dallas continued to have offensive struggles, and Abington used the dying last minutes to poke in 2 touchdowns and put it out of reach. Dallas falls to 0-3 for the first time since 2013, and Abington Heights improves to 2-1 on the season. You can view the video highlights below.
