On Friday night, the Aliquippa and Central Valley game was an intense showdown. It kicked off with an Aliquippa Quips touchdown in the first quarter, setting the pace. In the second quarter, the Central Valley Warriors added a field goal to the scoreboard. Aliquippa responded with a remarkable play, completing a “scoop and score” touchdown, giving them a 13-3 lead. However, Central Valley managed a late touchdown run, narrowing the score to 13-10 in favor of the Quips at halftime. After the halftime break, the Warriors displayed their strength, scoring a quick rushing touchdown. Following this, both teams had several drives that resulted in quick three-and-outs. The Quips later regained control of the contest with two additional touchdowns, culminating in a final score of 27-17 in favor of the Quips.

In the First Quarter, the game got underway with an interesting turn of events. Central Valley mishandled the kick-off giving the Quips an excellent starting field position. This advantage quickly translated into a touchdown run by Tiqwai Hayes, putting them ahead 7-0, just 14 seconds into the game. Despite both teams making efforts to gain points, none were added, resulting in a 7-0 score at the end of the quarter.

In the early moments of the second quarter, the Warriors successfully kicked a field goal, reducing the deficit to 7-3 with 10 minutes and 41 seconds remaining in the first half. Subsequently, both teams had a couple of unsuccessful drives, resulting in punts. However, we witnessed two rapid scores, one from each team. The Quips initiated the scoring sequence with a scoop-and-score touchdown by Demarkus Walker, occurring at 1 minute and 25 seconds before halftime. Following this, Central Valley quickly advanced down the field to score a late touchdown, bringing the score to 13-10 with only 46 seconds left. These were the final points scored in the half, leaving it 13-10.

The beginning of the third quarter mirrored the quick pace of the first quarter. The Warriors wasted no time and made a rapid impact with a 49-yard touchdown run by Jance Henery Jr. Following this impressive touchdown drive, you could sense a shift in momentum as Central Valley began to assert dominance. However, this didn’t last long, as the Aliquippa Quips responded with consecutive scoring drives. The first touchdown came from running back John Tracy, resulting in a score of 19-17 after a failed point-after attempt. In a brisk offensive series by the Warriors, the Quips managed to score another rushing touchdown, courtesy of Tiqwai Hayes, marking his second touchdown of the night. This concluded the third quarter with the score at 27-17.

The Fourth quarter unfolded quietly, with no additional points added to the total score. During one extended drive, lasting five and a half minutes, the Quips maintained possession of the ball, effectively extinguishing any hope of a comeback for the Warriors. Unfortunately, the Warriors’ offense struggled to generate any significant opportunities. Aliquippa managed to solidify their control over the game and clinched a significant victory, securing a record for the most wins in Western Pennsylvania history.
With this win, Aliquippa improved their perfect season as they head into the playoffs, while Central Valley is eager to bounce back swiftly and shift their focus to the postseason
