On Friday night, the Beaver Area Bobcats beat the Seton LaSalle Rebels by a score of 38-20.

Despite the combined 58 total points scored, it took both teams some time to start putting points up on the board. A late first quarter field goal by senior kicker Evan Baker put Beaver up 3-0, and this was the score at the conclusion of quarter number one.

It seemed like the second quarter would be a repeat of the first until Seton LaSalle junior quarterback Michael Pastirik found senior wide receiver Aric White across the middle of the field for a touchdown.

White’s touchdown gave the Rebels the lead, but this would be their one and only lead of the game.

Just two minutes later, Beaver junior wide receiver Brady Mayo caught a pass from sophomore quarterback Travis Clear and took it to the endzone for a touchdown, which put the Bobcats back in the lead.

On the ensuing drive, Mayo followed up his receiving touchdown with an interception in which he returned for a touchdown. The pick-six put Beaver ahead of Seton LaSalle 17-7 at halftime.

In the second half, Seton LaSalle senior running back O’Malley Daly opened up the scoring on a direct snap which he took into the end zone for a touchdown to cut the lead to only three points.

However, on the first play of Beaver’s next drive, junior running back Drey Hall took the handoff and ran 80 yards all the way to the end zone, which put Beaver back up by 10 points.

Beaver would add on one more touchdown before the end of the third quarter, which was scored by junior running back Qualan Cain.

Cain would go on to score again in the fourth quarter and ultimately seal the victory for Beaver, 38-20.

With the win tonight, Beaver improves to 6-2 and will host Quaker Valley next Friday night. Seton LaSalle drops to 4-4 and will host Avonworth next Friday night.
