Cam Jones always has his priorities in order

Dynamic Specialist/play-maker Cameron Jones set numerous records this past season for the Wilson Bulldogs. Whether he was returning punts or kickoffs the rising Senior looked like the reincarnation of Devin Hester. I have never seen so many teams purposefully kick away from a player until this past one with Jones. Returning a combined 7 touchdowns, expect this dual threat athlete to have a bigger role offensively for the Bulldogs for the 2022 season. With Brad Hoffman and Jadyn Jones graduating, Cameron will need to be an integral part of the offense in order for Wilson to repeat as Section Champions. He was courteous enough to swing through to update on his off-season plans, next year expectations and his future.


CF: You just finished up basketball season, what does the Spring have in store?
Cam Jones: I will be running track to improve my speed, working out with Dane at the garage strength, and improving my footwork.

CF: What do you expect your role to be next season for the Bulldogs?
Cam Jones: To be a leader on and off the field. Help my team with Championships. And show the underclassmen what the Bulldog tradition is all about.


CF: How much is your loss in the final seconds to Harrisburg in the District Final motivating your squad?
Cam Jones: Making us work harder in the weight room and plyos so we don’t have to experience that again. We stay hungry.

CF: You are gaining major Division 1 offers and are one of the biggest recruits in the state, do you have a favorite, possibly a top 5?
Cam Jones: No recruitment is 100% open waiting for the right home that not only suits me but my family as well.


CF: Tell our audience something about Cameron Jones that we don’t know?

Cam Jones: I always put god first and believe he has a plan for me. My family members are my biggest supporters. I love to inspire the youth. And always look out for the people in my circle.


Jones is not the type of player who wants the attention, you can tell by his answers that winning comes before everything except his faith and family. The specialist/shutdown corner has picked up offers from Army, Marshall and Buffalo with many more on the way. It was a pleasure to watch this young man play last season looking forward to what is in store for him in the Fall. With the Berks County Merger and several schools such as Hempfield, Manheim Township and Penn Manor expecting to contend every week is sure to be entertaining.

When he is not becoming an opponents special teams nightmare, the Junior was leading Wilson’s basketball team into a district playoff run. It has not stopped this young man for staying committed to his craft as he will run for Coach Dahms (also his football coach for those who live under a rock) this spring. Another multi-sport athlete who you can see has three focuses winning, his faith and his family.
