STRONG SECOND HALF PERFORMANCE BY MADDEN PATRICK and BO SHEPTOCK PROPEL IRONMEN TO KEY CONFERENCE WIN.
DANVILLE- The Danville Ironmen were pushed to the limits Friday night in a key Heartland Athletic Conference II contest with a very good Montoursville Warrior squad. Both teams came in looking to go 3-0 and for three quarters hung in with the state-ranked Ironmen, but a couple of fourth quarter scores had Danville escape with a 40-22 win before a packed house.
Danville only led 9-8 at intermission on a 26 yard filed goal and then a 12 yard Bo Sheptock touchdown run with a missed PAT. Montoursville’s only score in the first twenty-four minutes came on a 21 yard touchdown pass from Jimmy Mussina to Todd Crawford with 2:41 left in the opening quarter giving the visitors a 6-3 lead at the time. The Warriors after downing a punt at the Danville one forced a safety as QB Madden Patrick was sacked in the end zone. The entire second quarter Patrick was on the sidelines for non-injury related reasons. Cole Duffy took over the signal-calling for four drives.
Patrick came back out under center in the third and led his team to five straight touchdown drives. Patrick finished the night with 316 yards passing and three touchdowns on the night. On the opening drive of the half after Danville received the second half kickoff. The Ironmen drove to the Warrios two where Sheptock capped off the drive with his second score to make it a 16-8 game.

Patrick would the hook-up with Duffy for a 27 yard score for Danville, but then Christian Banks, of Montoursville ripped of a 28 yard run to the end zone to make it a 23-20 score with the home team on top going into the last quarter.
On a 2nd-and-15 play for Danville Patrick connected with Duffy for a 39 yard pitch-and-catch, that setup a 24 yard scoring pass to Landon Kehoe, who made a diving catch at the pylon for a 30-20 lead. The Duffy would score again on a 76 yard touchdown reception from Patrick. The scoring was capped off by a brilliant 69 yard scamper by Sheptock as reversed his field going his left and then coming right and found daylight down the middle to cruised across the goal line for the last score of the game.
