District 1 Playoff Picture Entering Week 9

This week marks Week 9 of the Regular season which means that next week marks the last week of the regular season in District 1. With that in mind let’s take a look at what the playoff match-ups would be if the postseason started today.

In 6A the reigning District 1 Champion CB South currently holds the number 1 seed while we see some familiar names at the top of the standings. The current match-ups are:

1 CB South vs 16 Spring-Ford

8 Neshaminy vs 9 Plymouth Whitemarsh

4 Haverford vs 13 Coatesville

5 CB West vs 12 Downingtown East

2 North Penn vs 15 Pennridge

7 Owen J Roberts vs 10 Souderton

3 Downingtown West vs 14 Quakertown

6 Perkiomen Valley vs 11 Ridley


The 5A Bracket is shaping up the be the hardest it has been to navigate in some time. Currently, Central League teams hold 3 of the top 4 seeds. If the playoffs started now here are what the match-ups are

1 Garnet Valley vs 16 Hatboro Horsham

8 Pottsgrove vs 9 Chester

4 Springfield Delco vs 13 Kennett

5 Upper Dublin vs 12 Penncrest

2 Strath Haven vs 15 Upper Perkiomen

7 Upper Moreland vs 10 Marple Newtown

3 West Chester Rustin vs 14 Oxford

6 Phoenixville vs 11 Unionville


In 4A where only four teams make it the teams are almost set only thing left to be determined is the seeds. Currently, they are as follows

1 Pope John Paul II vs 4 Lower Moreland

2 Bishop Shanahan vs 3 Springfield Montco


In 2A Bristol and New Hope Solebury will battle for the District 1 Championship the winner of that game will go to face the District 12 champion in a subregional with the winner of that contest advancing to PIAA playoffs.

In 1A, Morrisville and Jenkintown will meet for a second time this season for the District championship. The winner will take on the District 12 champion with the winner of that game advancing to play the District 3 Champion for a berth in the PIAA playoffs
