District 12 sends its finest to Division 1 programs on early signing day

The Philadelphia Public, Catholic and Inter-Ac schools all had strong seasons and both the Catholic and public league had a state championship win this season. With winning comes player recognition by college scouts and the two state champions lead the way as Imhotep star DL Jahsear Whittington inked his letter of intent with the University of Pittsburgh. Stud WR Tyseer Denmark along with star DB Ken Wosley Jr both signed with Big 10 instate member Penn State while massive OL Zafir Stewart has inked his letter of intent with fellow Big 10 program Illinois. Other public league players who signed today were Martin Luther King lineman Demitrius Jones who is the first Public League football player in 20 years to sign a football letter of intent with an Ivy League program as he will play at Cornell University.

The Catholic League Red, District 12 6A champs and PIAA 6A State champs had 11 players sign with division 1 programs while LaSalle had 1 player officially sign. West Catholic DL Jayzen Flint inked his letter of intent with Boston College.  Bonner Prendie DL Mylachi Father is off the market as he inked his letter to attend Penn State. Father Judge OL Sean Broderick Jr signed with Long Island University an FCS program that competes in the NEC while Episcopal Academy DL Alphonso Koukou inked his letter of intent with Villanova University. Malvern Prep DL Phillip Tabasco signed his letter of intent with Colgate which plays in the Patriot League. His teammate OL Peter Jones officially inked to attend Notre Dame on a football scholarship. William Penn Charter RB Ohifame Ijeboi is officially signed with University of Minnesota.

Neumann Goretti has 3 players who are still mulling their options in DB Khamir Prescott who recently decommitted from Wisconsin and is weighing offers from Penn State, Nebraska, Michigan State and Pittsburgh. DB Khari Reid who decommited from Stanford is weighing his options with offers from James Madison, Northwestern, Virginia Tech and Utah Tech. DL Deshon Dodson is also uncommitted with offers from Charlotte, Penn State, Syracuse and Rutgers on
