Abington Heights 35 Wilkes-Barre Area 28

Declan Walsh returned a fumble 55 yards and ran for 73 yards and a touchdown as the Comets got their first win of the season with a victory at Wilkes-Barre Area. Wolf Pack running back Howie Shiner added two touchdowns as Wilkes-Barre Area fell to 0-2.

Scranton 29 Valley West 0

Knights quarterback Billy Maloney threw for 185 yards and two touchdowns as Scranton goes to 2-0 with a victory in their home opener. He also added a rushing touchdown. Leland Alexander recorded an interception on defense for the Spartans who go to 1-1 on the season.

Dallas 42 Crestwood 35

Mountaineers quarterback Brady Zapoticky threw for 243 yards and four touchdowns. He also added 87 yards on the ground and two touchdowns as Dallas goes to 2-0 with a road victory at Crestwood. Comets quarterback Jaden Shedlock ran for 301 yards and three touchdowns. He also threw for 144 yards and two touchdowns. The Comets fall to 0-2 on the season.

Harrisburg 33 Delaware Valley 0

Harrisburg pitched a shutout on the road at Delaware Valley to go to 2-0 on the season. Delaware Valley falls to 0-2 on the season.

Valley View 34 Berwick 19

Cougars quarterback Casey Malsberger threw for 119 yards and a touchdown as Valley View improves to 2-0 with a road victory. Camryn Higgins and Zach Cwalinski each added two touchdowns for Valley View. Bulldogs quarterback Ethan Lear threw for 126 yards and a touchdown as Berwick goes to 0-2 on the early season.

Wyoming Area 47 Honesdale 12

Warriors running back Aaron Crossley ran for 153 yards and four touchdowns as Wyoming Area went to 2-0 with a road victory over Honesdale. Kevin Wiedl added a touchdown catch and an interception on defense. Aidan Collins and Mason Avery each added rushing touchdowns for the Hornets.

Mount Carmel 34 Dunmore 7

Tornadoes quarterback Cole Spears threw for 263 yards and four touchdowns and Xavier Diaz had three catches for 107 yards and three touchdowns as Mount Carmel took the road victory. The Bucks’ Daniel Pigga returned a kick 79 yards for a score.

North Pocono 10 Western Wayne 9

Brady Mapes kicked a 25 yard field goal in the fourth quarter and quarterback Noah West scored a touchdown as the Trojans got their first win of the season on the road at Western Wayne. Wildcats running back Josh Vinton rushed for 83 yards and a touchdown as Western Wayne fell to 1-1 on the season.

Mid Valley 14 Riverside 12

Victor Holt had two intereptions, returning one 97 yards for a touchdown and also caught a touchdown pass as the Spartans took a close victory at home to get their first win of 2023. The Vikings Reese Gaughan threw for 153 yards and two touchdowns He also added 113 yards on the ground as Riverside goes to 1-1.

Lackawanna Trail 48 Lake-Lehman 7

Lukas Gumble scored two touchdowns and Sean Dwyer, Stephen Jervis, and Demetrius Douglas each added a rushing touchdown as the Lions went to 2-0 with a home victory over Lake-Lehman. Black Knights quarterback Hayden Evans threw for 51 yards a touchdown pass to Landin Bardo.

Susquehanna 40 Montrose 0

Quarterback William Marcy ran for 110 yards and three touchdowns and recorded an interception on defense as the Sabers pitched a shutout at Montrose. Yannone Weston added 87 rushing yards for Susquehanna.

Wallenpaupack 28 Hazleton Area 21

Dylan Podrazil rushed for 135 yards and two touchdowns in the fourth quarter as the Buckhorns took the victory on the road at Hazleton Area to go to 2-0 on the season. Quarterback Drew Kiesendahl added a touchdown run for Wallenpaupack. Cougars wideout Zander Coleman had six catches for 80 yards and three touchdowns as Hazleton Area goes to 1-1.

Old Forge 14 Nanticoke 13

TJ DiMattia found Joe Granko from nine yards with no time left as the Blue Devils took a road victory at Nanticoke. DiMattia threw for 125 yards and a touchdown and also added a rushing touchdown. Trojans running back Zack Fox rushed for 165 yards and two touchdowns.

Williamsport 25 Pittston Area 2

Millionaires quarterback Caleb Williamson threw for 220 yards and two total touchdowns as Williamsport got the road victory. Yazhir Slaughter had seven catches for 78 yards and a touchdown. Patriots quarterback Drew Delucca threw for 57 yards in the loss.

Lakeland 20 Carbondale 10

Chiefs quarterback David Naniewicz threw for 160 yards and two touchdowns as Lakeland took the victory. Running back Chris Chmiola ran for 133 yards and a touchdown. Chargers quarterback Mason Baron threw for 61 yards and a touchdown pass to Mitchell Alexander.

Tunkhannock 14 Hanover Area 6

Logan Ross ran for 208 yards and two touchdowns as the Tigers went to 1-1 with a home victory against Hanover Area. The Hawkeyes Jayden Skipalis returned a kick 80 yards for a touchdown and quarterback Rahmel Curry rushed for 75 yards.

Scranton Prep 42 West Scranton 12

Cavaliers quarterback Louis Paris threw for 205 yards and four touchdowns and Andrew Summa caught two passes for 112 yards and two touchdowns as Scranton Prep took home the victory. Invaders quarterback Caiden Berardi had a rushing touchdown and Shamier Lyons added a rushing touchdown as well.

Holy Cross 28 Holy Redeemer 12

Crusaders running back Aiden Wudarski rushed for 230 yards and two touchdowns as Holy Cross won their first game since 2021 to defeat Holy Redeemer on Saturday afternoon. Royals quarterback Thomas Dugan threw for 260 yards and a touchdown. He also adde a rushing touchdown.
