The game of the week: There were not very many close games that could even be considered the game of the week. One did however meet those qualifications and that was Coudersport’s 26-14 win over Cameron County. The game went into the intermission deadlocked 0-0. The fireworks all went off in the second half. After Cameron County tied the game in the 4th quarter, Gavyn Ayers (feature picture) had a long TD run to give Coudy the lead. He then had a pick six to nail down the win for his team. Ayers scored all 4 of Coudy’s touchdowns.
Here are the top performers of the week, along with a couple other tidbits:
Quarterbacks:
- Jase Ferguson, Central Clarion, threw for 241 yards and 5 scores.
- Will Domico, Clearfield, threw for 266 yards and 3 TDs. He also ran for 136 yards and 2 more touchdowns.
- Gavyn Ayers, Coudersport, rushed for 3 TDs.

- Braylon Wagner, Redbank Valley, accounted for 5 TDs by passing for 4 and running for another. He had 204 yards throwing the ball.
- Colby Barr, Sheffield, had the high marks this week as he tossed 6 touchdown passes and threw for 427 yards!!!
- Maddox Baughman, Cameron County, threw for 229 yards.
Receivers:
- Jack Pete, Brookville, caught 7 passes for 109 yards.
- Carter Freeland, Clearfield, had 172 yards on 6 catches, scoring twice.

- The Clouse brothers both returned punts for touchdowns for Redbank Valley. Mason’s return was for 70 yards and Owen’s went for 66 yards.
Other Notes:
- As noted last week, if Central Clarion and Redbank Valley continue their winning ways, they will both be unbeaten at 9-0 when they meet in New Bethlehem on October 27, the last game of the regular season. Both teams are the only ones without a loss in D-9 and the only ones ranked by PFN.
- Central Clarion scored 86 points against Bradford. Apparently, that is a record for any Clarion or Clarion-Limestone team. The Wildcats average 60 points a game.
Games of the Week:
- Bucktail 4-1 @ Cameron County 3-2
- Penns Valley 4-1 @ Clearfield 4-1
- Brookville 3-2 @ St. Marys 3-2
