
Downingtown West RB Amari Cannon will fly north to UMASS for college

Amari Cannon a senior 6 feet 185lb running back at Downingtown West has given his early commitment to FBS program UMASS. As a junior last season Amari ran for 1046 yards & 19 total touchdowns. He also was a threat in the receiving game hauling in 22 receptions for 319 yards for the Whippets. Last season Downingtown West finished 8-3 last season and just missed out on the playoffs. Amari and West look to get back to the top of District 1 and make a lengthy playoff run in 2026. Other finalist for Amari were Kent State, Richmond, Temple, Maine, Rhode Island, Merrimack, New Haven, NC A&T, & Stony Brook.
