Fort Cherry leads way with two of four WPIAL players selected to 1A All-State team

Matt Sieg, Braylon Thomas, Lou Ryan, and Jason Cross from the WPIAL have been named to the PA Sportswriters Class 1A All-State Team. 

Sieg, QB from Fort Cherry, led the way for the Rangers to win the 1A WPIAL Championship, and just fell short of the State Championship against Steelton-Highspire. This season he passed for 1,670 yards, rushed for 2,389 yards, and had 43 total TDs. 

Thomas, QB from Union Area, threw for 2,000+ yards, along with his 1,200+ rushing yards and 50 total TDs. Thomas helped the Scotties to the quarterfinals of this year’s playoffs just a year after winning the 1A WPIAL Championship. 

Lou Ryan, LB from Fort Cherry, had 130 total tackles on the year including 17 solo tackles. 

Jason Cross,Bishop Canevin DB and West Virginia commit, had 41 solo tackles, 18 assisted tackles, 11 tackles for a loss. On the offensive side, Cross had 34 receptions for 668 yards.
