On the first play off the game, South Side would fumble the ball and it would be recovered by Fort Cherry.

The Rangers then went on a five plus minute drive resulting in a 2-yard Matt Sieg rushing TD. The extra point was no good and the Rangers led 6-0 with 6:02 remaining in the first quarter.

South Side on the ensuing drive would run the ball on every play and take off five plus minutes off the clock with the drive resulting in a 1-yard Brody Almashy rushing TD.

Those were the only three drives in the first quarter.

The second quarter opened up with a Fort Cherry punt and South Side took advantage. Andrew Corfield would cap off another all running play drive with a 3-yard rushing touchdown. South Side now led 14-6 with 9:58 remaining in the second quarter.

Fort Cherry found their way back onto the scoreboard however with a 35-yard TD pass to Shane Cornali. Matt Sieg would convert the two point conversion, and the game would be tied 14-14 with a little over eight minutes remaining in the second quarter.

The Rams would start to drive down the field, but stalled out and turnover the ball on downs. The Rangers on the following drive would score on a TD pass from Cornali to Ethan Faletto and extend their lead by 7.

South Side again turned the ball over on downs, and Shane Cornali would find the endzone for his second receiving TD of the day, making it 28-14 and that is how the first half ended.

Opening up the second half, the Rangers continued their TD streak as Sieg found the endzone again to make the game 35-14 early in the third quarter.

On South Side’s first drive they turned the ball over for the fourth time as Sieg would intercept Almashy pass. The Rangers however on fourth down ran a fake punt and not convert, giving South Side the ball back on their 40-yard line.

The Rams found their way back into the endzone when on third down, Almashy ran in a 25-yard TD and brought the Rams within 14.

The next two possessions for both teams resulted in punts. The Rangers would break that streak as Faletto got his second TD of the day making the score 42-21 with just over seven minutes remaining in the game.

The Rams would not go down easy as Carter Wilson would catch and score off a 45-yard TD from Almashy. However, Fort Cherry would drive down the field using almost all of the remaining time on the clock, South Side would take the kneel and the Rangers were crowned the 1A WPIAL Champions.
