Hollywood’s Cutting Room Floor- Colonial/Schuylkill League Edition Week Nine.

After Eight Weeks of the High School Football Season Seven Teams From the Colonial/Schuylkill League Have Clinched a Spot in the Upcoming District XI Playoffs.

There are 32 open spots in the District XI playoffs from 1A to 6A, however there are no Colonial/Schuylkill League teams in the 6A classification. After week eight Minersville has clinched a spot in 1A. In 2A Schuylkill Haven is the only team to qualify. Four teams have occupied a spot in 3A: Northwestern, Palmerton, North Schuylkill and Notre Dame Green Pond, there are four more spots available. No teams have solidified a spot in 4A but Blue Mountain and Bangor are leading contenders. Southern Lehigh has clinched a spot in 5A and are currently the top seed as rest of the classification are teams from the Eastern Pennsylvania Conference.

Northwestern Lehigh, Southern Lehigh and Palmerton all had solid outings this past weekend to remain unbeaten through week eight in the league. Schuylkill Haven, Minersville and Blue Mountain are hanging around in the mix as well as Williams Valley, Notre Dame and Bangor ill have something to say in the next couple of weeks.

This reporter will be at three league games this weekend:

Friday Bangor at Blue Mountain and a Saturday Double-Header at noon Northwestern Lehigh at Wilson Are and then at 7PM Mahanoy Area vs Nativity BVM, that game will be at Schuylkill Haven Rotary Field.
