Here is how it look at the half-way point of the 2023 Colonial-Schuylkill League Regular Season.

We are the end of September is upon us and the chill of Autumn has arrived. We have also only have just 5 weeks left of the high school football regular season in the Commonwealth and right now it looks like in each of the four divisions and what to possibly expect as we wind things down and teams make that final push for the post season.

GOLD DIVISION

Northwestern Lehigh and Southern Lehigh are the two undefeated teams both at 5-0. They are headed fr a showdown in week ten in New Tripoli. Bangor Slaters are lurking closely behind if either the Tigers or Spartans slip up before then. The Slaters are 4-1, and have a date with Northwestern as well on on October 13th at Paul Farnan Field. Saucon Valley and Blue Mountain are both 2-3 and are looking to make a run for a playoff spot.

RED DIVISION

Palmerton and North Schuylkill are leading the pack as the Blue Bombers are 5-0 and coming off a big win over Notre Dame Green Pond this past Friday for the first time in 10 years and it has been 29 years since Palmerton was 5-0 to start a season. North Schuylkill had a hiccup against Blue Mountain in a 18-17 loss. Palmerton will host North Schuylkill on October 13th. Notre Dame Green Pond cannot be counted out, as they sit at 3-2 and have the weapons to make some noise down the stretch

WHITE DIVISION

There is a tie at the top of this division with both Minersville and Schuylkill Haven are 4-1. Pen Argyl has been a pleasant surprise as they sit at 3-2 and have a date with the Battlin’ Miners this Friday night at Veterans Stadium. The Green Knigts coming off a big win on the road this past weekend with a win over Catasauqua. The District XI runner-ups from last season the Roughriders are also sitting at 3-2. Minersville has a tough schedule coming down the stretch with besides the Green Knights, they have games at Catasauqua and at Schuylkill Haven still on the schedule. The Hurricanes also have few tests still left in the last five weeks as the face Catty on Friday as well as on the road “Up On The Hill” at Pen Argyl. Then two home games to close out the season with Minersville and rival Blue Mountain. Pen Argyl ther than games mentioned will have a home game with Palisades and close out with their rival Bangor.

BLUE DIVISION

Four teams are at 3-2: Marian Catholic, Nativity BVM, Tri-Valley and Williams Valley. Shenandoah Valley is 2-3 followed by 1-4 Mahanoy Area. Marian defeated BVM this past weekend 12-6 and has games with Williams Valley at Men of Marian Stadium on October 13th and a road trip to Tri-Valley on the 20th. Williams Valley have BVM and the game at Marian along with Tri-Valley in week 10.

Though this season seems to be flying by, but so much football yet to be played and so many playoff scenarios yet to be deiced in the Skook/Colonial League. SO BUCKLE UP!
