Frankford High historically has been a strong powerhouse program in the Philadelphia Public League. The past couple of seasons they’ve been below the normal standard expected of the program. Damian Brockington who is commonly known as Coach Brock is a Frankford alumni amd former player who earned all public and all city honors during his playing career took over the program in 2021 and as a rookie coach led them to an undefeated regular season and into the Pub 5A championship game where they’d fall to Imhotep. The 2022 and 2023 seasons they regressed with losing seasons in both campaigns but 2024 Coach Brock has the team now 4-1 including 2-0 within the Liberty Division.
Both Frankford and Palumbo both struggled to capitalize on turnovers and played deep into the 4th quarter without scoring. Both teams got into the red zone and had penalties and or turnovers that kept them from scoring. Frankford would finally break through with under 2 mins left in the game thanks to Sophomore QB Deshaun Foster who found the end zone to break the scoreless contest open. Throughout the day he displayed his dual threat skills. With the win Frankford positions itself as the front runner in the American Division. Next week they will host Kensington in another divisional matchup.
