The Game:

Bensalem Owls @ Pennridge Rams

Friday, September 9, 2022

Kickoff: 7pm @ Helman Field

1228 N 5th Street, Perkasie, Pa 18944

The Details:

Bensalem Owls

Head Coach: Alexander Houston (2nd Season)

Last Season: (5-5) overall (4-3) Conference

League: Suburban One-Continental Conference (6A)

This Season: (1-1) overall (0-0) Conference

Last Week: Lost to CB East 42-0

Owls Notables:  In week Zero the Owls beat Norristown 24-6 without scoring an offensive touchdown. Zyan Greene had a punt return TD, Michael Schneider returned a fumble for a score, Tommy Hurst hit a 24-yard field goal, and their final score came on an interception by Nick Becht. Last week the Owls defense had no answer and fell to non-conference opponent Central Bucks east 42-0. Bensalem looks to keep this game more competitive and a lot closer than last year’s meeting when Pennridge won 45-0.  in order to be victorious SR DT Ahmed Kamara says, “We need a big bounce back and we just got to be dogs tomorrow night.”

Pennridge Rams

Head Coach: Chuck Burgy (1st Season as HC)

Last Season: (8-5) overall (6-2) Conference

League: Suburban One-National Conference (6A)

This Season: (0-2) overall (0-0) Conference

Last Week: Lost to Souderton 24-21

Rams Notables: The Rams fell in week zero to Downingtown East 31-13 at home. The bright spot of that game came from SR RB and Army Commit Brennan Fisher, who rushed for 182 yards on 19 carries and 2 scores. Defensively the Rams had two picks, one from JR Sam Kuhns & SR Vince Dam. Last week saw them loose a tough one to cross town rival Souderton 24-21. I can’t remember the last time Pennridge started 0-2. Head coach Chuck Burgy is Looking for them to bounce back this week as he feels his team is trending in the right direction.  When asked about what his teams key to victory would be this week, SR LB Dylan O’Brien said, “We need to focus on the little things, take care of the details, and don’t hurt ourselves with penalties. We are having a good week of practice and looking to bring the intensity we have lacked in the first two weeks of the season.”

Mayhem’s Prediction: Pennridge comes out the gate swinging, Bensalem keeps it close for a time, but the Rams prevail over the Owls. Pennridge 27 Bensalem 8
