In order to be proficient in postseason action, you need to have at least two of if not all three of the following qualities. In descending order they are an experienced coach, an experienced QB and a good rushing attack.

With a coach that’s been at the helm 23 years Meadville, the alma mater of former PSU running back Journey Brown,  happens to be blessed with two. The Bulldogs have a very experienced coach and an excellent ground game.

As a team, they total just shy of 4,500 rushing yards and 9.2 yards per rush.   Their option is spearheaded by a three  headed monster, the scariest of which is sophomore speedster Jordan Lawrence. Through 11 games, he’s solely responsible for nearly a quarter of the Bulldog Offense and 10 touchdowns. Another heavy-hitter in the Meadville backfield is junior Braidyn Miller. He averages almost a first down per carry, with 7 games surpassing 100 yards on the ground.  He also enters the game with 1,300 yards and 23 touchdowns. The third back within the Meadville rotation is senior Bryten Anderson. In 11 games, he has managed 942 yards  and 11 touchdowns. Suffice to say they’re quite skilled at running the football.

The Indians, however, feature a similar balanced attack. Paced on the ground by Junior bruiser back, Javy Lopez, who has totaled 590 yards thus far.Through the air, Condo’s Indians control things. Junior signal caller Wyatt Ehrenzeller is just shy of 2,000 yards on the season with 23 scoring tosses to 11 interceptions. Responsible for over 66 percent of said passing yards is sophomore sensation, Jasper Shepps, who on the season has tallied 65 grabs for 1,322 yards and 13 Scores.

On the defensive side of things the Indians are quite adept at stopping the run but they’ve had issues with pass defenses. For Meadville on the other hand they’re about the same defensively.

These two teams have met in each of the last two seasons and it has spelt the end of the Indians season i times.  The winner of this game is due to meet with the winner of Bethlehem Catholic and Selinsgrove kicking off at 7 Friday night in Catasauqua.
