Penns Manor beats up United Valley for second straight shut out of the season

Penns Manor traveled to United Valley looking to continue rolling after their decisive 32-0 win over Purchase Line in week 0.  United Valley was looking to continue the good play they experienced in a loss to state ranked Homer Center in week 0.  Penns Manor got what they were looking for! Penns Manor had 3 big runs of over 60 yards in a dominating 34-0 win over United Valley.  The Penns Manor defense held United Valley to under 125 yards of total offense.  Penns Manor has started the season with two shutouts.

United Valley started the game with a promising drive.  United Valley drove to the Penns Manor 33 before United Valley’s QB Isaac Worthington was sacked for a 15 yard loss on 3 and 8 and the Lions were forced to punt.  Penns Manor started their first drive from their 16, and 4 plays later Penn Manor’s Justin Marshall ran a 60 yard TD.  United Valley couldn’t really get anything else going for the rest of the game.  United Valley didn’t have any drives, after the first one, were they got more then one first down.  At the end of the first quarter, United Valley muffed a punt and Penns Manor recovered at the United Valley 21.  Four plays after the turnover, Penns Manor’s QB Max Hill ran it in from 7 yards out.  Mid way through the second quarter, United Valley’s Alex Reba broke free for a 47 yard.  At the end of this run, Reba was stripped of the ball from behind, and Penns Manor recovered the fumble.  Two plays after the fumble, Penns Manor’s Max Hill ran for a 63 yard TD.  United Valley had 2 more drives end in punts, and Penns Manor had one more drive before the 1st half ended.  The halftime score was 20-0 Penns Manor.

The second half started with Penns Manor driving 70 yards on 6 plays, with the final play being a 21-yard TD run by Ashton Courvina.  United Valley managed one first down on their next drive but was forced to punt.  Two plays later, Penns Manor’s Justin Marshall broke loose for an 87-yard TD run to finish the scoring for the game.  Penns Manor’s Justin Marshall finished the game with 9 rushes for 183 yards and 2 TDs.  Penns Manor’s Max Hill also rushed for 103 yards.  United Valley will be at West Shamokin next week.  Penns Manor will be at home next week against #6 ranked Homer Center.  This matchup good be one of the better games in the Heritage conference this year.
