It was less than three minutes later when Peters Township answered with the first touchdown of the game. Preston Blair ignited the fire for the Indians with a rushing touchdown from a goal to go position.
On Moon’s possession after Peters Township’s touchdown, the Tigers fullback Naz Brookins fumbled and gave Peters Township Great field position.
With 4:35 to go in the first half, Vinny Sarcone for Peters punched it in from four yards out to extend the Indians lead to 14-3 over the Tigers.

Last time it was Blair this time it’s Vinny Sarcone from 2 yards out.

HALFTIME:
Moon 3
Peters Township 21
Like the first half, the odd quarter was the quiet quarter. Only one touchdown in the third quarter and it was Thomas Aspinall of Peters Township with his first of two receiving touchdowns on the night. This gave Peters the 28-3 lead over Moon near the end of the third.
Moon did answer with their first touchdown of the game to start the fourth quarter. It was Josh Bladel from four yards out on the first play of the quarter. Moon trailed Peters 28-10 with 11:50 left in the game. On the kickoff, Moon went for an onside kick and recovered. They did not capitalize on the opportunity.
Moon strikes with their first of the game from Josh Bladel. They still trail.

After a few stops from both teams, McMillon of Peters Township intercepted Andrew Cross which led to a Thomas Aspinall touchdown reception two plays later. This was Aspinall’s second receiving touchdown and DiLucia’s third passing touchdown of the night.
Peters Township led Moon 35-10 with 7:00 left in the game. Moon would not go out quietly however as they executed a trick play perfectly with 4:00 to go. It was a hitch and ladder play from Cross to Paul Bronaugh and then pitched to Braeden Stewart for the Moon touchdown. After a successful two-point conversion from Andrew Cross to Josh Bladel, Moon still trailed 35-18.
Executed perfectly. Moon strikes to cut the lead. Hitch n ladder.
The 2pt conversion is good on a cross body throw to Bladel.

Peters Township will face Pine Richland next Saturday at Norwin for the 5A WPIAL championship. Pine Richland defeated Penn Hills on a last second rushing touchdown from freshman quarterback Aaron Strader. Moon Township finishes the season at (6-6) overall, playoffs included, while Peters Township (12-0) remains undefeated.
Peters finds themselves in the same spot Moon was just two years prior, and that is a WPIAL championship birth as an undefeated team.
FINAL:
