Timmons was instrumental in Pine-Richland’s third straight WPIAL 5A championship appearance and second championship victory in that three year stretch. Playing wide receiver and cornerback this past season, the junior amassed 755 receiving yards and 8 touchdowns, along with 42 tackles, 4 interceptions, and 2 fumble recoveries.
Timmons is also the son of former Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker of the same name, the elder Lawrence being drafted 15th overall in 2007. He would go on to be a part of the Steelers’ Super Bowl XLIII winning team and earned a Pro Bowl selection along with Second-Team All-Pro honors in 2014, retiring in 2017.
Timmons has a 3-star rating on 247 Sports and On3, listed as the 14th best cornerback in the state of PA by both. He received offers from 21 Division 1 schools, 8 of which were Power 4 conference teams, including Pitt, West Virginia, Iowa, Wisconsin, and Syracuse, but chose the Hoosiers.
