Familiarity: Golden Panther’s Head coach Scott Reed was the head coach at Perkiomen Valley from 2004-2015 and led the Vikings to PAC Championships in 2007 and 2014. Reed is also currently a Gym/Health Teacher at PV. Current PV Head Coach Rob Heist was Reed’s quarterback coach when he was at PV.

Playoff Situation: Perkiomen Valley currently has the 5th seed in the District 1 6A Rankings, while Pope John Paul currently has the 1st seed in the District 1 4A rankings.

How They Got Here: 2024 Schedule

The Vikings enter play this week having won six consecutive games since dropping a 35-13 decision to Downingtown West. On offense the Vikings are led by QB Patrick MacDonald the senior has thrown for over 800 yards this season in addition to rushing for over 300 yards.  Carter McCabe is the team’s leading rusher with 394 yards and 6 touchdowns while Colin Sturges has rushed for 270 yards and four touchdowns. Jon Boyd leads the team in receptions with 17. Freshman Will Stein leads the team with 203 receiving yards.

Defensively Carter Euker leads the team with 85 tackles.  Richie Strano has 47 tackles. Anthony Rodriguez leads the team with 2.5 sacks. Dimitri Toman has been a ballhawk in the Viking secondary with a team-high 3 interceptions.

How They Got Here:2024 Schedule

The Golden Panthers enter play this week on a six-game winning streak since dropping a 20-13 decision to West Chester Rustin. Offensively Luke Terlesky has thrown for nearly 1500 yards and 18 touchdowns thus far this season. Dylan Skarbek leads the Golden Panthers in rushing with 417 yards and four touchdowns. The Villanova commit Braden Reed leads the team with 59 receptions for 746 yards and 9 touchdowns.

Defensively Ryan Lamson leads the team with 50 tackles followed closely by Sean McNally (45) and Anthony Borzillo (43). Lamson shares the team lead in sacks with Makel Parker with 9 apiece. Zahaid Edwards-Boone leads the team with 2 interceptions.

Keys to Victory

Both teams are evenly matched with phenomenal lines which team wins the battle in the trenches and which team limits mistakes could come out victors.
