The Richland Rams have a new star player that is beginning to get looks at the collegiate level. This player is sophomore wide receiver and defensive back, Arnold Mugerwa. Friday afternoon, Mugerwa announced that he has received his first offer from Virginia Tech University.
The young receiver has a very projectable frame at 6’3″, 180 pounds. Along with his size, he brings a lot of speed that has translated to his great start in 2024 on the offensive side. Through his first three games, Mugerwa has seven receptions for 301 receiving yards and five touchdowns. That averages to 43 yards per catch, which is very impressive. All of this as just a sophomore.
As a freshman a year ago, Mugerwa hauled in 23 catches for 577 yards and five touchdowns. He averaged 25.1 yards per catch. On top of that, he accounted for 28 tackles and an interception on defense.
This young star is someone to keep an eye on for the next couple years. He is still only a sophomore and already has a power 5 offer from Virginia Tech. It appears to be the first of many for Arnold Mugerwa.
