It was a fantastic night up in Mountain Top for Crestwood’s Homecoming. The home team answered the special occasion with an amazing night from junior Noah Schultz and the defense pitched a shutout, forcing three turnovers. They defeated Abington Heights 33-0.

Crestwood started with the ball and went 10 plays over 75 yards, ending with a 17 yard touchdown run by Noah Schultz and led 7-0 with 7:08 remaining in the first quarter. After an Abington Heights punt, Crestwood drove all the way to the AH 37 yard line but the Blue Comets ended up getting a diving interception by Caleb Marzolino at the beginning of the second quarter. Abington Heights drove all the way to the Crestwood 30 yard but facing a fourth and 3, the pass fell incomplete.

The Comets faced a third and 7 on their next drive and Schultz went 27 yards to the AH 40 yard line. They faced a 3rd and 10 and Jay Swank found Josh Hilpp for 24 yards. On the very next play, Schultz went 16 yards for his second score of the game and led 14-0 with 3:39 remaining in the second quarter.

The Crestwood defense forced a three and out and a punt just before halftime. Crestwood took over at their own 42 yard line and Schultz got gains of 11 and 14 to the AH 33 yard line. After a penalty, Schultz scored his third touchdown of the game from 37 yards out and made the score 20-0 as we hit halftime.

The Crestwood defense forced two turnovers in the third quarter. They got a fumble recovery from Zach Snyder and an interception by Ethan Stoltz. It looked like the third could end up being the only quarter where neither team scored. Before the third quarter buzzer sounded, Schultz got his fourth touchdown of the game from 58 yards out for a 27-0 Crestwood lead. Crestwood Head coach Ryan Arcangeli on his junior running back. “”I know he’s thanking his offensive line, his receivers and tight ends. Noah’s a special guy. It was finding where he can impact the team the most and it was at tailback.”

The Red Comets got another turnover on the next Abington Heights drive. Nick Miscavage got the sack, forced the fumbled and recovered the fumble. Crestwood scored five plays later as Chase Pugh scored from 14 yards out to make it 33-0 Crestwood and that ended up being the final score.

Crestwood travels to Dallas next week. Arcangeli talked a bit about his opponent for next week. “It gets tougher the rest of the way. I know that Dallas will be ready for us but we’re gonna be ready for them as well.” Abington Heights plays Wallenpaupack at home next week.
