Entering tonight, we stood with just 2 weeks left until the playoffs ensue. In a critical cross-district heavyweight bout against two of the finest teams in the state, Scranton Prep got the upper hand.
Jersey Shore has enjoyed plenty of success in recent years. Last year, they suffered just one loss across the season, which was a 44-19 beatdown by the Selinsgrove Seals. The success has continued throughout the majority of the regular season in 2024. Entering the contest tonight, they had suffered just two losses. Those losses came to undefeated Shamokin and one of the best teams in the state in Hollidaysburg. WR Evan Snyder is one of the best players in his area. Throughout 8 games, Snyder has 902 yards for 12TDs. If Scranton Prep were to win, they need to stop Snyder.
Scranton Prep has had a phenomenal 2024 season. The Cavaliers are undefeated in Pennsylvania play. Their only loss was suffered by Buffalo New York power Canisius. Scranton Prep has a plethora of impressive wins including Loyola Blakefield (MD), Valley View, and Deleware Valley. This win against Jersey Shore will go close to the top of the list of impressive performances in 2024. QB Will Mcpartland has been an X-factor for the Cavs, and that stayed true in the victory.
Jersey Shore v. Scranton Prep, here’s how it went down:
The home Bulldogs came out in the first quarter strong. Jersey Shore RB Bo Sechrist busted off a huge run that got the Bulldogs within striking distance. Then, QB Elijah Jordan was able to scamper in for the game’s first points.

After Mcpartland had his fun, another Cavalier got in on the action. Louis Paris found a gap and hit it, made a spin, and got his Cavaliers 6 points.

Both teams continued to trade scores until it was 27-19 Scranton Prep late into the 4th quarter. Jersey Shore would need a TD and a 2PT conversion to tie and send it to OT, Scranton Prep had other plans. A QB Sack was enough to end the game in a Scranton Prep Cavalier win.
Even with a loss, Jersey Shore is still a good team. They have yet to lose to a good team, they’ve all been great teams. Scranton Prep was able to get Jersey Shore uncomfortable enough times to have success. Big plays killed Jersey Shore and made it hard for them to stay in the game. Jersey Shore heads to Central Mountain to close out the regular season Friday Night at 7.
The Cavaliers win, again. They were able to battle back from early adversity as Jersey Shore scored the opening TD. Scranton Prep then rallied 20 unanswered to give them a commanding lead. Although Scranton Prep allowed a comeback. they still looked impressive in their win. Speaking on the win, Head Coach Terry Gallagher said, ” I thought our kids battled back. We have some good kids. We made one more stop. The QB that Jersey Shore has is really good, but our kids did a good job tonight.” Scranton Prep is at North Pocono Friday at 7.
