Seven, count ‘em, seven Redbank Valley Bulldog football players made the 2023 PA Class 1A All-State sportswriters’ team.  That is more than any other Class A team including Steelton-Highspire, who were the 1A state champions.

Braylon Wagner

Sophomore quarterback Braylon Wagner was one of four QBs chosen.  When you look at the other three names and see what they’ve accomplished, young Mr. Wagner is in some elite company.  Braylon threw for 3,045 yards and 46 touchdowns this year.

Of the three wide receivers picked by the sportswriters, two were from Redbank.  Ashton Kahle and Mason Clouse were the first two wide outs to ever go over 1,000 yards receiving for the Bulldogs and they both did it in 2023.  Kahle caught 64 passes for 1,343 yards and 17 TDs.  Clouse hauled down 63 throws for 1,149 yards and 18 scores.

Bulldog offensive lineman Christian Clinger made the team too as he played a huge role in protecting Wagner and opening holes for the running game.

Caden Adams #50 and Brandon Ross #51

Brandon Ross and Caden Adams were named to the defensive all-state team.  Adams, who plays linebacker, led the Bulldogs in tackles with 101.  He also had 12 tackles for losses.  Ross plays on the line and made 92 tackles with 22 of those being TFLs.

Owen Clouse is the seventh Bulldog to receive all-state honors.  Owen was named to the team as a specialist.  He was the place kicker and punter for Redbank.  He nailed 63 of his 65 PATs and he also kicked 4 field goals on the year.

There was an eighth District 9 player named to the Class A all-state team and that player was Reese Yahner of the Brockway Rovers.  Reese was chosen to the all-state team as an offensive lineman.  His leadership and play were certainly not overlooked by the coaches.
