MARION CENTER- The Stingers faced off against their Heritage Conference rivals the Purchase Line Red Dragons in a game that was rough for the Stingers. The Purchase Line defense held the Stingers to 13 points while their offense scored 49 making the final score 49-13.

The Red Dragons would score early in the game on a pass to senior Mello Sanchez; they would then go for two and making it 8-0. Purchase Line would then score again on their next drive on a run, 14-0.

On the next Stingers-drive, the Red Dragons defense came up with a pick 6, and would make the score 20-0. Purchase Line would score two more times and have another two-point conversion making it 34-0 going into the half.

At the start of the second half, Purchase Line would return the kickoff for the touchdown making it 42-0, but on the next Stingers-drive they would put some points on the board.

The Stingers scored on the next drive on a run by senior running back Xavier Vaglia then went for two but did not get it making it 42-6.

Purchase Line would score again on a run by senior running back Brady Syster making it 49-6, but this would be the last points put up by the Red Dragons on the night.

The Stingers would also score one last time on a pass to senior running back Brady Tonkin, and the extra point by Braden Reichenbach was good making the score 49-13.

While this was a tough game for the Stingers, they look to bounce back on the road against the 3-1 Homer-Center Wildcats. The last time these two met was two years ago when the Wildcats defeated the Stingers 35-13.
