Rainy Friday Night Win for Juniata
Juniata hosted Susquenita for this Friday night’s matchup. Both teams struggled with playing against the rainy weather conditions. Running and maintaining control of the ball was very difficult. Regardless, Juniata conquered the first half on their scoring drive. The score at the end of the first half was 42-0, with Juniata scoring 6 touchdowns. Among those, the Blackhawks blocked one extra point. Later though, the Indians made up for it with a successful two-point conversion.
The second quarter started off with a Juniata touchdown. This brought the score to 49-0 a little over half way into the third quarter. In the fourth quarter, the Blackhawks got the final touchdown of the game. Susquenita Junior Andy Herrera (#13,WR) completed a receiving touchdown to bring the score to 49-6. The Hawks’ kicker Junior Corey Warren (#14) also completed the extra point to make the final 49-7. His extra point broke Susquenita High School’s record of the most kicking points. Warren sets the new record at 42 points. Susquenita looks forward to hosting Halifax for next Friday’s game.
