Jersey Shore will face Selinsgrove next week for the District 4 class 4A title in what is sure to be an emotion filled game. After his team handled a depleted Milton squad that was missing 2 starters who were ejected from last weeks game by a final of 54-6, Tom Gravish had nothing but praise for his defense. “That’s a good football team we played tonight. Our defense played very well”. We’ll just take it one day at a time this week. We have Max, his parents and his whole family in our thoughts every day and we’ll have them with us this week too”.

The Bulldog offense comes at you fast and hard, but Saturday Night it was the defense that allowed the Bulldogs to find the endzone quickly with a stifling defense that was constantly in quarterback Cale Bastians face all night, constantly batting passes down at the line of scrimmage. Tate Sechrist and Elijah Jordan both score 3 tds and each had over 100 on the ground. Jordan also hauled in a td pass to go with 2 rushing touchdowns.

It didn’t take long to get the ball rolling for Jersey Shore. Sechrist scored from 1 yard out to put the Dawgs up 7-0, then Milton fumbled the ensuing kick and Jerrin Loomis kept giving Sechrist the ball, covering the short 22 yards and ending the drive with a one yard td run by Sechrist. Loomis hit Paytan Samar for a 12 yard td score and Jersey Shore was off to the races, but not without a few untimely penalties and mistakes. Loomis, who had over 270 yards in the air and 2 td passes, also threw 2 interceptions, both caught by Milton star Peyton Rearick.

Sechrist made it a 27-0 lead with 4:51 left in the first half on another 1 yard run. Then Loomis hit Jordan for a 20 yard td score just before the half. Jordan made a great move on two Milton defenders to get into the endzone.

Jersey Shore put this icing on the cake on the first play of the second half when Jordon went straight through the middle of the Milton line and dashed 72 yards for the score.

Milton, who finishes the season at 9-2, got a late score when Bastian broke loose for a 60 yard run.
