Reynolds depended on the legs of Jalen Wagner and it turned out beneficial as he rushed for 302 yards on 23 carries. He started with 8 rushes for 52 yards and a touchdown to open up the game in the first drive. Some trickery for Reynolds would not prevail on the two-point conversion. Later in the first Brayden McCloskey would increase the lead to 12-0 on a two-yard run off the read option.
It would take till the final third of the second quarter for the raiders to strike again. Haydin McLaughin would receive a hand off on a jet sweep and go 10 yards to extend the lead to 18-0 going into halftime.
After halftime, Wagner would eclipse 200 yards and record his second touchdown of the night. McCloskey would get his first passing touchdown of the night with a five-yard pass to Travis Blackburn to push the lead 32-0 after three quarters.
The Jalen Wagner show would continue in the fourth as he would enact the running clock a 75-yard scamper to the endzone. McCloskey would find Gino Gentile in the endzone for the two-point conversion to make it 40-0. The Raiders would not be done when freshman Parker Nay would break free and score an 80-yard touchdown. That would make it a 47-0 final score.
Mercer hosts Wilmington next week while Reynolds plays host to undefeated and, after week 0, number eight in 2A Sharpsville.
