(Lititz, PA) It was not to long ago that the Warwick Warriors struggled to win football games.  Then came this class of 2019 and the culture began to turn around in Lititz .  For their final regular season game Senior Warrior leaders such as Nick Fucci, Nick Coomer and Hayden Rucci ran on to their home turf.  And they did not disappoint.  Following a back and forth first quarter, Warwick imposed their will on the Conestoga Valley Buckskins.  The Warriors threw and ran over CV the rest of the way and came away with a convincing 42-3 win Friday night.

The Warrior Offensive line ruled the night.  The line allowed Warwick QB Joey McCraken  to be virtually untouched in the pocket all night on his pass attempts. Warwick RB Nick Fucci took advantage of big holes in the CV defense to gash the Buckskins up the middle, off tackle and outside.  Warwick’s Mr. Excitement Trey Glass made every time he touched the ball an experience.

Senior Hayden Rucci  said it well “the program here was going through some dark days and my Freshman year the team was (2-8). Now with this senior class things have definitely changed.  I think that this is just a testament to all the  work that everyone has put in, hard work creates success.  Right now the first thing on our mind is section championship, then its get that win and get that home playoff game.”

Conestoga Valley(5-4) took the opening kick and had immediate offensive success.  Before Warwick (7-2) could get their defensive legs under them the Buckskins marched deep into Warriors territory.  The Warwick D finally dug in to stall the CV drive.  A Joe Cardina 27 yard field goal made it 3-0 Buckskins.  Warwick mounted an impressive drive on its next possession.  A short TD pass from McCracken to Rucci put Warwick in front to stay 7-3 as the first quarter wound down.

Warwick really began to control the line of scrimmage on both side of the ball in quarter two.  McCracken culminated another long drive for Warwick with a nice 9 yard run to get the score to 14-3.  Warwick then caught the Buckskins napping and executed a textbook on sides kick.  The resulting possession ended with a sweet pitch and catch from McCracken to Trey Glass from 37 yards.  21-3 Warriors.  Warwick kept things rolling on the next possession.  This time McCracken hit Michael Hilton for a score and it was all Warriors 28-3 with 1:25 left until half.  Was Warwick done, no way.  Good clock management gave the Warriors the ball on their 15 with under a minute in the half.   McCracken hit  Nick Fucci with a short pass and Nick turned it into a spectacular long gain.  On the next play it was Trey Glass on the end of McCracken’s 4th TD pass of the first half. Just like that, we went to halftime with Warwick over a shell shocked Conestoga Valley 35-3.

The third quarter saw Warwick insert Adam Ricketts at QB.  There was no scoring for the balance of the quarter.  As we started the fourth quarter Nick Fucci dove in to make it 42-3 Warwick.  And that’s how it ended, Warwick 42 Conestoga Valley 3.

The Warriors are looking for a share of the Lancaster-Lebanon League Section One crown.  Warwick faces off with Penn Manor next week.  Conestoga Valley travels to Elizabethtown needing a win to have a chance at a playoff spot.
