Waynesburg Central Handles West Greene

For the second consecutive year, the Waynesburg Central Raiders started their season by taking down the West Greene Pioneers by a wide margin.

This year, the final was 43-0. Last year’s game ended 50-6.

Both games were all Teagen Crouse.

Crouse, the senior quarterback, scrambled in for his first touchdown of the day less than three minutes in. When it comes to rushing touchdowns, he did the same twice more. Add two passing touchdowns to senior receiver Jack Riccuiti, and Crouse finished with five total touchdowns.

Crouse’s second touchdown of the day, a 48-yard run, made it 12-0 Waynesburg Central. That was followed by his first passing touchdown to Riccuiti, which went for over 50 yards.

Riccuiti’s first touchdown was also the start of a 31-0 second quarter in favor of Waynesburg Central, which made it 43-0, the eventual final, at halftime.

Senior running back Ross Tennant also found paydirt in the contest.

Waynesburg Central (1-0), takes on Chartiers-Houston next Friday, Sept. 4.

West Greene (0-1) hosts Brownsville.
