The West Middlesex Big Reds needed a win and some help to make the 2020 Class A District 10 playoffs. They got both of those with a shutout 31-0 win over Mercer and a Union City win over Iroquois. Senior receiver Alex Rea broke the scoreless tie midway through the first quarter with a two-yard touchdown run. That would be the only score of the opening quarter.

It would take until late in the second quarter for the Big Reds to score again when senior quarterback Ty Tate ran twenty yards to the endzone to go up 14-0. Tate would find the endzone again but through the air finding sophomore receiver Colby Johnson for another twenty-yard touchdown. West Middlesex would go into halftime with a 21-0 lead.

Tate would find the endzone for a third and final time with a one-yard quarterback to make the score 28-0. West Middlesex’s junior kicker Eli Asch would get in on the scoring with a 24 yard field goal. That would be the final score of the game leading to the Big Reds’ 31-0 win. West Middlesex clinched the final seed in the Class A District 10 playoffs. Their opponent will be announced over the weekend.
