PFN’s Road Trippin’ With Davin: Week 4

Week 4 of the 2026 season is here, we’re halfway through September, and the warm weather is still hanging around for now. Last week we had a loaded double header of games, and we’ve got some pretty solid matchups this week as well. For our Friday game, we’re heading to the western side of District 4, and then on Saturday we’re heading up north for our first District 2 matchup of the year. With that, let’s have a look at our games for this week.
Shikellamy Braves (2-1) vs Williamsport Millionaires (3-0)
Friday 9/18, 7:00 PM, STA Stadium
It’s a little over an hour west of my hometown, our Friday game brings us to Williamsport, the birth place of Little League Baseball. Williamsport is the home of the Millionaires, who are in just their third season as part of the Pennsylvania Heartland Athletic Conference. Prior to 2024, the Millionaires competed in the Wyoming Valley Conference. In their third season in the PHAC, Williamsport is off to another hot start, beginning 3-0 for third straight season, with victories over Wyoming Valley West, Hazleton, and Central Mountain. Now none of those teams are powerhouses by any means, as they have a combined record of 1-8 so far, Williamsport has looked very strong against them, winning all three games by at least 20 points. The engine behind the offense so far has been their junior quarterback Tevin Williams. In his second season as the team’s starter, Williams has emerged as a star, racking up 12 total touchdowns in the first three games of the season, 4 through the air, 7 on the ground, and even a receiving touchdown as well. Unfortunately for Williamsport, they will be without Williams in this game as he currently deals with an illness. It is unclear who will be filling that role in Williams’ absence, so that is priority number one for the Millionaires. Coming to town to face Williamsport are the Braves of Shikellamy, who are 2-1 on the season so far. Shikellamy had two nice wins to begin the year, getting an upset victory on the road against the defending District 4 3A champion Mifflinburg Wildcats, along with a 21-0 victory against Lewisburg in week 2. Last week was a bit of a humbling loss for the Braves, a 37-0 road loss to Shamokin where the offense struggled heavily. Shikellamy had some pieces to replace after the 2025 season, specifically the quarterback after the graduation of Brody Rebuck. Taking the snaps for the Braves this season has been sophomore Bobby Felmy, who has done a nice job so far, racking up 6 touchdowns in their first three games of the season. One thing that Shikellamy needs to avoid in this game specifically is turnovers, which you can really say for every team, but it applies especially to Shikellamy because of some pretty obvious flaws even in their victories this year. Felmy has thrown 4 picks so far this season, with the team as a whole losing 9 total turnovers in the first 3 weeks of the season. That is going to be key for the Braves in this matchup is to avoid playing sloppy football. Williamsport is looking to avenge their loss to this team from a year ago, as the Millionaires lost to the Braves on the road 35-14 in 2025.
Scranton Prep Cavaliers (2-1) vs Delaware Valley Warriors (1-2)
Saturday 9/19, 4:00 PM, Warrior Stadium
Our Saturday game brings us up to District 2 for the first time this season, a battle between the Scranton Prep Cavaliers and the Delaware Valley Warriors. Delaware Valley High School is located in the outer parts of Milford Pennsylvania, about 100 miles from my hometown and right next to where Pennsylvania borders both New Jersey and New York. The Warriors enter this matchup with a 1-2 record, with two close road losses to Bethlehem Catholic and Northampton by a combined 5 points to open the year. They found their way into the win column last year after a 13-10 comeback victory at home against East Stroudsburg South. This marks the first time since 2020 that Delaware Valley hasn’t started 0-3 or worse to begin the year. Despite that, Delaware Valley is always one of the strongest teams in the 5A class, with most of their losses coming to Pennsylvania powerhouses or even out of state opponents. The Warriors have relied on their running game so far in the season, specifically senior running back Devin Estevez. The passing game has new leadership this year, with senior Lucas Petersheim taking the snaps in 2026 after losing Colin McGarvey to graduation last season. Scranton Prep, like Delaware Valley, doesn’t always enter the playoffs with the best record, but they are always one of the top contenders in their respective class. The Cavaliers are 2-1 entering this matchup, with wins over Trinity and Connecticut’s Fairfield Prep. Their lone loss came in the opening week of the year on the road against Maryland powerhouse Loyola Blakefield. Scranton Prep runs two quarterbacks, juniors Oliver Swingle and Owen Jeffers, with Swingle being the passing quarterback and Jeffers runs more out of the wildcat. They also have a very effective backfield with running backs Braedon McPartland and Brandon Farmer. The Cavaliers are currently the 7th ranked team in Pennsylvania in the 3A class. Scranton Prep has won three of their last four meetings against Delaware Valley, with all four games being decided by no more than 7 points. Delaware Valley’s last win against Scranton Prep was back in 2023, so the Warriors will be looking to take the series back from the Cavaliers.
