Games of the Week:
La Salle v Malvern Prep: La Salle looks to get back on the winning track and earn the first W of the season after losing by 21 last week after squandering a 14-0 lead. Luke Gordon, Owen Johnson & Ahzir Nelson all lead a potent offense. Malvern opens their season looking to reclaim sole possession of the Inter-Ac title while also stamping themselves as the top team in PA despite not being eligible in the PIAA for playoffs. LSU commit Sr. WR Cade Cooper leads a talented offensive group for the Friars.
Roman Catholic v Don Bosco (NJ): Roman continues their national schedule looking for better results against a NJ Powerhouse. Jr. QB Jahlil Hawkins leads the offense while Sr. LB Walter Hudson (Pittsburgh) leads the defense.
Imhotep v DeMatha (MD): Statement game here for the Panthers as they look for national respect and a win over a talented Dematha team would do just that. Tep played DeMatha last season and fell short so look for the Panthers to be on a revenge tour this season starting with DeMatha.
Coatesville v Northeast: Both teams fell short last week in their season openers. How they lost came as a surprise as many expected Coatesville to be a contender in 6A while most figured Northeast would still be in rebuild mode, but they hung until the final minutes with Downingtown East. Neither team wants to start the season at 0-2 so look for a dogfight from opening kickoff until the final whistle.
Lincoln v Lincoln (NY): Battle of the Railsplitters as both teams share the same school’s name and mascot. Philly Lincoln is reeling off a loss to the #7 ranked team in Maryland in a competitive game while Brooklyn Lincoln is playing their first game of the season.
Conwell Egan v Cardinal O’Hara: Both teams earned impressive wins to open the season as Egan had over 300 total yards of offense in their win over St. Joseph’s (NJ). Both teams are in 4A this year, so this game holds huge playoff implication. O’Hara also compiled over 300 yards in their dominant win over Audenried.
