Last week Pine Richland’s offense put on a show in Ohio and tonight was no different in their 59-20 win over West Allegheny in their home opener. “Yeah I mean, you got a couple guys out there that are pretty special that usually when they touch the ball, they can make things happen, we still got a lot to clean up though” said Coach LeDonne.
West Allegheny got the ball to start the game and went to punt it away but a bad snap gave Pine Richland the ball at the West Allegheny 2 yard line. On the second play Kiernan Cassidy scored on a 2 yard touchdown run. That made the score 7-0 Pine Richland with 9:54 in the first quarter.

West Allegheny’s second drive was looking like a good one. A big pass play got them down to the Pine Richland 27 yard line. After that they decided to go for it on fourth down and the ball was intercepted.
Pine Richland started their second drive at the 50 yard line. Despite the good field position it didn’t last long and after a first down the ball was fumbled and West Allegheny recovered. The score at the end of the first quarter was 7-o Pine Richland.
In the second quarter Pine Richland started a drive on their own 36 yard line. It was a long drive, a big play was a pass down to the West Allegheny 31 yard line. Eventually the drive ended on a successful 30 yard field goal by Landon Brown which made the score 10-o Pine Richland with 7:53 in the second quarter.

West Allegheny got the ball back once again but on the first play a pass was intercepted by Khalil Taylor which gave Pine Richland the ball at the West Allegheny 40 yard line. After a penalty Pine Richland’s offense struck when Aaron “Oobi” Strader completed it to Khalil Taylor for a 45 yard touchdown pass which made the score 17-0 Pine Richland with 6:47 in the second quarter.

Late in the second quarter, West Allegheny finally got on the scoreboard when Mason Bryan found Austin Probert for a 34 yard touchdown pass. That made the score 17-7 Pine Richland with 2:15 in the second quarter.

After the West Allegheny touchdown Pine Richland wasted little time taking a 17 point lead back when Aaron “Oobi” Strader found Nico Aiello on a 13 yard touchdown pass which made the score 24-7 Pine Richland with 49 seconds remaining in the first half.

Pine Richland got the ball to start the second half and thanks to a failed surprise onside kick by West Allegheny it gave the ball to Pine Richland at midfield. Eventually Pine Richland capitalized on the good field position when Aaron “Oobi” Strader completed it to Khalil Taylor for a second touchdown this one being a 4 yard touchdown pass. That made the score 31-7 Pine Richland with 8:36 in the third quarter.
Strader played a key role in the win for Pine Richland, he threw 4 touchdowns and was 15 of 20 for 218 yards in the win. “Yeah just special, I mean he’s a four year guy for us, running the offense so we expect him to be able to make things happen for us, so just excited to get some things corrected and move forward” said Coach LeDonne.

West Allegheny got the ball for the first in the second half and had success moving the ball it was a big pass that got them into Pine Richland territory and another one got them inside the 10 yard line. After that Mason Bryan found Darcy St. Surin for a 8 yard touchdown pass. That made the score 31-13 Pine Richland with 6:07 in the third quarter. Bryan was a key player in the game for West Allegheny he was 7 of 13 for 198 yards and threw 3 touchdowns.

14 seconds after the West Allegheny score, Khalil Taylor returned a kickoff 79 yards for a touchdown which made the score 38-13 Pine Richland with 5:53 in the third quarter.
Taylor was the other key player in the win for Pine Richland. He had an interception, a kick return and 3 touchdowns receiving one of which was a one handed catch. “He’s just a special individual, but he’s just a great kid, you know he doesn’t have an ego, just very humbled down to earth, he just enjoys playing football, he’s a competitor, he wants the ball in his hands every play, obviously we got to move the ball around, but when his number is called he’s usually executed” said Coach LeDonne.
Late in the third quarter Pine Richland found the end zone once again on a 14 yard run by Kiernan Cassidy. That made the score 45-13 Pine Richland with 1:01 in the third quarter.

13 seconds after the Pine Richland score, West Allegheny struck right back when Mason Bryan found Brodie Cornell for an 80 yard touchdown pass which made the score 45-20 Pine Richland. That was the score at the end of the third quarter.
In the fourth quarter Pine Richland scored two more times. The first touchdown Aaron “Oobi” Strader found Khalil Taylor for a third time in the game this one a 42 yard touchdown pass. That made the score 52-20 Pine Richland with 8:56 in the fourth quarter.

The second touchdown was an 8 yard run by Miles Neals. That made the score 59-20 Pine Richland which would also be the final score.

Next week Pine Richland has a big time showdown when they travel to Central Catholic and West Allegheny hosts Gateway.
