Plymouth Whitemarsh dominates Quakertown 44-8 in Suburban One League Opener

In the Suburban One League’s opening night, Plymouth Whitemarsh (4-0) entered Alumni field and dominated Quakertown (0-4) in a 44-8 victory. Michael Giangiulio, a senior captain for the PW Colonials, had three touchdowns on the night, including a defensive scoop-and-score. Giangiulio’s 3 touchdown game saw him leave with over 400 rushing yards on the season, along with 9 touchdowns. Behind Giangiulio’s heroics, the Colonials proved why they are a District 1 contender, scoring 35 points before halftime and benching their starters. 

 

To start the game, Michael Giangiulio got the ball on the second play of the game, scoring a 75-yard touchdown.

Then, responding to PW’s quick score, Quakertown’s Marcus baxter bulldozed his way for a long gain.

Forcing a punt, Cole Reilly, the Colonial Quarterback, found Chase Tadeo for a completion, then James Cain for the redzone touchdown.

The Colonials never slowed down after Reilly and Giangiulio’s touchdowns, with Reilly finding Aidan Orensky on a screen-pass touchdown. Plymouth Whitemarsh scored on all three of their drives so far, adding 21 in the first.

Then, on a blitz, Michael Giangiulio added his second touchdown of the game on an unforced fumble, where he found the ball in the backfield and scored a 40-yard housecall.

Yet, Giangiulio was not done, adding his third touchdown of the game after a 3-and-out punt for Quakertown. Giangiulio powered through the gap for the redzone touchdown, his third touchdown of the night.

And entering halftime, Quakertown and PW withdrawed their starters, as the running clock saw the game end 44-8 in Plymouth Whitemarsh’s favour.
