This is an article that’s been a while coming, but then the recruiting process is no hurry either. Malvern Prep DB TyGee Leach on the other hand, had three offers in a short 2 month span, but decided he’d seen enough and chose to commit to the Mountain Hawks of Lehigh.  The 5-11, 190 pound senior DB/WR joined teammates Jake Hornibrook (Stanford) and Keith Maquire (Clemson) to give Malvern Prep three D1 commits heading into this season.

We caught up with TyGee and asked him about his commitment:

WPA: why did you choose The Mountain Hawks?

TyGee Leach:

Lehigh offers an opportunity to be able to play for a great football program but also receive a great opportunity for an education.

WPA: who was your biggest influence at Lehigh, who recruited you?

TyGee Leach: The biggest influence at Lehigh was coach Mcgorry and Coach Sutyak. They were also the ones to recruit me.

WPA: what do your parents think of your decision?

TyGee Leach: My parents fully support my decision and are happy I’ve chose a school that will allow me to prepare for a future for and beyond football.

WPA: what are they getting in player like you?

TyGee Leach: They are getting a Great leader, Hard worker, and versatile defensive back, and most importantly a baller who loves to play this sport.

WPA: what position will you play?

TyGee Leach: As of right now the plan is for me to compete for a spot at the safety position.

WPA: why commit early?

TyGee Leach: I feel as though it was the place for me. I was comfortable with the school and the coaching staff. I also feel as thought it’ll help me play loose and enjoy my senior year without having to worry about the recruiting process still.

WPA: Do you know what you’d like to study?

TyGee Leach: No, I’m still undecided and figuring out my interest in majors.

WPA: What do you think is the most exciting thing about Lehigh University?

TyGee Leach: The most exciting thing about lehigh to me is the culture of the program, but also the social life.

WPA: How will this affect your play for your senior season?

TyGee Leach: I feel that committing early would relieve a lot of stress and would allow for me to have fun and enjoy my last year of high school football without worrying about anything else.
