Kahmir Prescott as a junior for Northeast High School during the 2022 season opened many eyes of recruiters with his play as a defensive back, returner and rusher. He finished the season leading the team in interceptions, return yards & rushing yards. This led to a dozen offers from some high-profile universities. Power 5 schools such as Wisconsin, Penn State, Nebraska, Michigan State, Pittsburgh, Syracuse, Maryland, Boston College & Cincinnati all offered him a scholarship. Ultimately his final 5 came down to Wisconsin, Michigan State, Nebraska and in state programs Penn State & Pittsburgh.

Ultimately Kahmir choose Wisconsin as his next home with his primary recruiter being Colin Hitschler. Ironically Coach Hitschler is from Philadelphia and coaches the safeties in addition to being the co-defensive coordinator for the Badgers. Prior to Wisconsin Coach Hitschler was the safeties coach at Cincinnati under now Wisconsin HC Luke Fickell which is how Kahmir and Colin first forged a relationship and bond with Colin recruiting him to Cincinatti before leaving for the Badgers.

His HS coach Ryan Nase says “We are absolutely ecstatic for Kahmir & what it means for the Northeast program. He continues a tradition of multiple players getting the chance to continue their football and academic careers at the highest levels of Division 1 football. Coach Eric Clark did a great job not only laying a foundation but helping navigate the recruiting process during a coaching change which is never easy. Kahmir is working extremely hard in track right now and we can’t wait to see what he does over the summer and during his senior season. Hopefully we can continue the tradition of placing Northeast athletes in some of America’s top collegiate programs”.

Prior to his senior season Kahmir is once again running track looking to capture another Public League title or two as a sprinter before his last ride as a senior looking to add a city and state title to his resume on the football gridiron.
