La Salle College High School junior quarterback Gavin Sidwar has officially committed to the University of Missouri, PaFootballNews learned Via Hayes Fawcett Friday afternoon.

The 6-foot-3 190 pounder is ranked the 11th best player in PA (Via. 247Sports) in the class of 2026, and the second best quarterback behind only Penn State commit Peyton Falzone from Nazareth High School.

Sidwar originally committed to Rutgers University last summer before decommiting towards the end of the 2024 season and reopening his recruitment. The four star garnered offers from Ole Miss, Appalachian State, UCLA, Temple, Wake Forest, and Missouri in the months following his decommitment.

Though just shy of three months following an offer from head coach Eli Drinkwitz and Mizzou, Sidwar made it official with the Tigers.

The La Salle star will join a plethora of local QB’s in Columbia, when making his way out there in 2027.

Former Penn State fan favorite Beau Pribula already headlines the quarterback room for the Tigers. The Central York HS product will lead the competition for the starting job in 2025. Though nobody is doubting the talent of Spring-Ford senior Matt Zollers, the top QB in PA in 2025 (Via. ESPN).

With Pribula and Zollers already leading the charge, Sidwar will have his work cut out for him upon his arrival to CoMo next winter.

Though nobody doubts the Warrington native’s competitiveness. Sidwar won the starting job as just a freshman for the Explorers back in 2022 and has held onto it ever since, helping lead La Salle football back to prominence.

In 2024 Sidwar recorded a 70% completion rating, 2747 yards and 31 touchdowns for La Salle on his way to a first-team All-Catholic selection. While not the most mobile, Sidwar’s presence in the pocket can’t be denied as something put on display on multiple occasions last season. Maybe most notably during La Salle’s four-overtime win over deafening PCL, D12, and State 6A champions St. Joseph’s Prep when Sidwar threw four 266 yards and four touchdowns on 27-48 passing with an unforgettable connection to Joey O’Brien in the back of the endzone to take home the victory in one of the games of the year in Pa Football.

Sidwar has one year left with the Explorers as he along with the states top player in Joey O’Brien and second year head coach Brett Gordon look to triumph over The Prep once again, and avenge their D12/6A City Championship loss last season. While Sidwar looks to prove he’s ready to join an ultra competitive and always growing Mizzou QB room in 2027.
