Philadelphia Catholic League Stars announce their college decisions

The 6A State Champions St. Joseph’s Prep Hawks had 2 players sign their letter of intent to attend various institutions yesterday.  Running back Eric Sanchez inked his letter with MEAC and HBCU institution Delaware State and defensive lineman Denzel Felder is headed to Wilkes University which is a Division 3 program that plays in the Landmark Conference. Offensive lineman Kevin Towns is headed to FCS CAA program Towson University as a preferred walk-on. Quarterback Jack O’Connor is also continuing his football career at the Division 1 FCS level as a preferred walk on at NEC program Saint Heart University.

Other Catholic stars headed off to college to play football are a pair of Neumann Goretti stars in DB Kahmir Prescott who flipped from his Wisconsin commitment to fellow Big 10 program University of Nebraska. His teammate Koren Robinson an imposing DL flipped from one PSAC program to another as he switched from Lock Haven University to Millersville University. A trio of Roman Catholic players inked their commitments with WR/Returner/DB Jah Jah Boyd heading to the University of Indiana while OL Devin Johnson will be staying close to home and playing at Wagner College in Staten Island, NY. DB Devon Jackson signed to attend and suit up for Division 2 PSAC program Shippensburg University.

Conwell Egan had 4 players ink their letters in Athlete Sam Cooper & OL Cooper Lauersen (Stony Brook University) while DB Tim Gipli is staying local and heading to West Chester University where he will now be on opposite teams with LB Gavin Pond choosing fellow PSAC program Millersville University.

Cardinal O’Hara Running back Keon Powell has signed with California University of PA which competes in the PSAC Western Division. His teammate Zion Knox has signed to play at local HBCU Lincoln University which competes in the CIAA conference.

Father Judge Defensive back Eric Smith Jr. has decided on Eastern University while Archbishop Ryan Defensive Lineman David Montgomery is headed to PSAC East program Lock Haven University.
