At a combine this summer I had the pleasure of meeting many college coaches. I remember a brief conversation with one of them: “See anyone you like here?  Yeah, we really like the Burke kid a lot”.  The feeling must have been mutual because on Monday Richland wide receiver Caleb Burke committed to that coaches team, the New Hampshire Wildcats.  He’ll join a teammate from last years powerful Ram team, Colin Instone. “It helped to have someone i could truly talk to about the college” said Burke of Instone being there.

Caleb is a threat anywhere he lines up on the field.  His speed and skill set will be welcomed heavily by the Wildcat program and fans. The 6-1, 185 pound senior also had offers from the likes of Colgate, Lafayette, Sacred Heart, St Francis and Lehigh.

He made his decision known to all via twitter:

PFN: How long have you played football?

Caleb: i’ve played foorball for 12 years

PFN: Why did you choose to commit to the Wildcats?

Caleb: i felt like like i was wanted there and it is a great academic college

PFN: Why commit early?

Caleb: i felt that thats where i wanted to go

PFN: Who was your biggest influence at New Hampshire, who recruited you?

Caleb: Coach John Bowes recruited me, he is a great guy and we truly built a great relationship over the past months. i feel that he is a guy i could talk just more than football to.

PFN: What are they getting in player like you?

Caleb: i am gonna study business

PFN: What role did your parents play in your decision?

Caleb: my mother and father we so supportive, i truly couldn’t ask for better parents. my dad really stuck with me through everything. we have had countless talks and heart to hearts. i love my parents

PFN: What do you think is the most exciting thing about the New Hampshire program?

Caleb: everything is exciting about new hampshire. i get to see my best friend again for another four years and meet new people

PFN: Tell everyone out there in Wildcat Land something they’d never know about you until you told them:

Caleb: honestly i dont even know

PFN: Who is the person who most influenced you in your football career?

Caleb: definitely my dad without a doubt.

PFN: What is it you’d like all your high school team mates and fans to know about your decision that you might have a hard time saying in person?
