Rock Hill takes Football City, USA Showdown against South Pointe 26-3 (Photo Gallery)

Rock Hill’s defense showed up and showed out, winning the turnover battle and the game, turning a second half shutout into a 26-3 victory over South Pointe.

Two of the top teams in the state of South Carolina battled it out on Friday Night in Football City, USA. The Rock Hill Bearcats and South Pointe Stallions were locked in a tight battle through a scoreless first quarter when the Stallions broke through with a field goal early in the second quarter to take a 3-0 lead. However three points is where they would stay for the night.

Both the Bearcats and the Stallions defenses were forcing three and outs all throughout the first half. Rock Hill finally capitalized when a botched snap on a punt turned into a safety and the ball for the Bearcats, giving them a chance to take the lead going into halftime. Which they would, knocking through a field goal with 2 seconds left in the half to take a bizarre 5-3 lead into halftime.

After halftime, the Bearcats never looked back. Capitalizing on their first possession of the quarter when Kaiden Watkins punched it in from 1 yard out, the PAT was good giving the Bearcats a 12-3 lead.

The Bearcats defense turned in two pick six’s, one from Kaiden Watkins and one from Myles Brooks, to secure a dominant defensive win 26-3 over the Stallions.
