Twin Valley Defeats Solanco 34-17, Ending Golden Mules’ Undefeated Start

QUARRYVILLE, Pa. — The Solanco Golden Mules suffered their first loss of the 2026 season Friday night, falling 34-17 to the undefeated Twin Valley Raiders in a Lancaster-Lebanon League matchup. Despite a competitive first half and a third-quarter touchdown that brought them within four points, the Golden Mules were unable to complete the comeback as Twin Valley pulled away in the fourth quarter.

Solanco entered the matchup at 6-0 following a strong start to the season, while Twin Valley arrived with a perfect 6-0 record. The two teams battled early, with Solanco striking first and showing it could compete with one of the area’s top teams.

Wesley Bard opened the scoring for the Golden Mules with a six-yard touchdown run, giving Solanco a 7-0 lead. Twin Valley responded with a four-yard rushing touchdown by Myers, tying the game at 7-7 by the end of the first quarter.

The Raiders gained control in the second quarter. Twin Valley took its first lead after recovering a Solanco fumble and returning it for a touchdown, moving ahead 14-7. Solanco answered with a 30-yard field goal from Brown, cutting the deficit to four points. However, Myers found the end zone again on a one-yard touchdown run before halftime, extending Twin Valley’s advantage to 21-10.

Solanco came out fighting in the third quarter. Quarterback Chase Sensenig scored on a one-yard rushing touchdown, finishing a drive that brought the Golden Mules back within striking distance. Brown converted the extra point, making it a 21-17 game heading into the fourth quarter. With only four points separating the teams, Solanco had an opportunity to make things interesting.

Twin Valley, however, delivered the decisive blows in the final period. Myers scored his third rushing touchdown of the night on a 12-yard run. Although the Raiders failed to convert the two-point attempt, they extended their lead to 27-17. Foster then broke loose for a 38-yard touchdown run, and the successful extra point secured the 34-17 victory.

Bard led Solanco’s offensive production, rushing for 93 yards on 14 carries with one touchdown. He also recorded two receptions for 81 yards, providing an important contribution in the passing game. Sensenig completed three of 10 passes for 105 yards and an interception while adding a rushing touchdown.

Defensively, Jackson Eckardt recorded two interceptions for the Golden Mules, creating important opportunities for Solanco to stay competitive. Despite those defensive plays, the team could not overcome Twin Valley’s second-half scoring.

The defeat dropped Solanco to 6-1, while Twin Valley improved to 7-0 and maintained its undefeated record. Solanco will look to respond next Friday when it faces Garden Spot at 7 p.m. The Golden Mules will aim to regroup and get back into the win column after their first setback of the season.
