The final game in the “Gaveyard” for the Ghosts. Tonight, Abington went up against the North Penn knights, losing to them 62-14 in their final game of the season.

The Ghosts came into the game ready, knowing this was there last game for many players. But North Penn came out strong,

Scoring four touchdowns in first quarter were made by North Penn including by Sal Colella, Jacob Garret and William Rittenhouse who scared twice all in the first quarter setting the tone earlier on in the game. Despite this TJ Barry and Kai Taylor continued strong plays for Abington.

In the second quarter, we saw Jacob Garret and Kai Corbin both from North Penn, making touchdowns and adding points to the board.

Going into halftime the score was 41-0 with North Penn leading.

After halftime, the Ghosts weren’t giving up. In the third quarter we saw EJ Dickerson and Caleb Smith both put points on the board giving Abington a bit of a comeback but North Penn came right back with a 25-yard rushing touchdown made by Joshua Meza-Reyna.

The fourth quarter was a back and forth battle with only 1 touchdown made by Jake Weidenmiller for the knights.

The final score was 62-14 with North Penn taking home a victory.

After the game I got to catch up with Caleb Smith from Abington and Sal Colella from North Penn to hear their thoughts about the game.

Smith a senior at Abington told me this game meant more being his final game and told me having made the last touchdown of his football career is important and something he said he would never forget.

Colella from North Penn told me they took this game like any other and told me they’re ready for playoffs and are gonna be working harder than ever before.

For the Ghosts, it ends their season but for the knights it’s on to playoffs! Best of luck to North Penn and congrats to both teams tonight!
