The biggest rivalry in the Philadelphia Catholic league. The St Joe’s Prep Hawks vs the La Salle College High School Explorers. The tensions were high the fans were excited but when the final whistle blew the Hawk’s took home the victory. The final score was 13-3.

In the first quarter we saw the Prep start with the ball with a kick made by Logan Lindsay. After we saw many interceptions made by La Salle as well as the Prep.

With only 5 minutes left in the first quarter we saw a touchdown made by Ameen Williams from The Prep and an extra point kicked by Logan Lindsay. Ending the first quarter with a score of 10-0.

Heading into the second quarter, both teams continued to battle for control. La Salle kicker Jackson Laufer attempted a field goal but was unsuccessful. La Salle quarterback Luke Gordon also tried to move the ball down the field but was sacked by St. Joseph’s Prep’s Travin Roberts. The Hawks added another field goal, furthering their lead. La Salle responded with a field goal of its own, keeping the Explorers in the game. At halftime, the Prep held a 10–3 lead.

As the rivals returned to the field for the second half, both teams were determined to come away with the victory. Colin stoner from the Prep kicks to the 40 yard line, but no touchdowns made by either team in the 3rd quarter. But each team was playing tuff making sure no advances were made.

La Salle is down in the 4th quater with The Prep kicking straight field goals with help of Colin Stoner. La Salle is trying everything we saw Kellen Trainer from La Salle kick the ball where Maslla Acrey from the Prep caught the ball and ran it to the 45 yard line. Despite all of the explorers attempts the hawks just kept coming back stronger.

The final whistle blew and the St. joes prep secured a 13-3 victory over La Salle. Overall we saw both teams show there strengths throughout the game and there defense as well as there field goal battle made for this rivalry game to be very unforgettable.

After the game I got to catch up with with one of coaches at the prep I asked him about the rivalry between La Salle and the Prep while also telling me a little more about the Prep’s football program and how they secured this victory.

He explained that a major focus of the team’s practices is staying present and focusing on what they are doing in the moment rather than worrying about what the next drill will be. Which helps every  player ensure they understand the drills and plays there given.

The the tradition still stands for the St. Joseph Prep Hawks and the La Salle College high school Explorers but this year we saw a victory for the Hawks.
