Another week of WPIAL action is here and it’s the Upper Saint Clair Panthers vs. the Thomas Jefferson Jaguars!

This game started off explosively with a deep shot to Evan Smirniw to put the Panthers in the Red Zone. Not long after, Josh Snyder connected with Andrew Gaither for a touchdown and the score was quickly 7-0.

The Jaguars headed onto the offensive side of the ball and Harrison Kolling made a couple of check downs and pushed their way towards the end zone until the Jaguars fumbled and the Panthers jumped on the ball and gained possession. Snyder continued making passes and the Panthers were at the 2-yard line when Luca Coury punched into the end zone for another touchdown to make the score 14-0.

The Jaguars continued down field and were in the red zone and only 12 yards out from the goal line after a pass interference call on the Panthers. Kolling then found Lucas Patterson in the end zone to put the Jaguars on the board. The score now being 14-7

The next drive had the Panthers advancing fast down field and not long after they started the drive the offense was in the red zone. Josh Snyder kept it himself and found himself in the end zone for a touchdown and making the score 21-7

The Panthers defense continued to put up a solid fight and broke up a couple passes only allowing 2 first downs. Then after one more pass breakup the ball went into hands of the Panthers on a turnover on downs.

The first half ended with a score of 21-7.

The second half started with the Jaguars on offense. They marched down field and found themselves in the red zone when Tyler Eber made his way in for a Jaguars touchdown making the score 21-14.

The Panthers started off their next drive hot, John Banbury rushed down field for a 60-yard rushing play. The Jaguars defense pushed back and forced a field goal attempt from Cameron Smith to make the score 24-14.

The Jaguars offense had possession, but eventually stalled out and had to punt. The Panthers only needed one play and Snyder fired a 45 yard pass down field to Smirniw and you can put 7 more on the board to make the score 31-14.

The Jaguars moved down field and the Panthers put up a fight, but they fell apart and allowed Tyler Eber to get onto the end zone and bring the Jaguars within ten, 31-21.

The Panthers had a little bit of trouble at the beginning of the next drive but continued to push on and Snyder found an open lane and exploded for a huge rushing gain. The Panthers were in the red zone and Snyder put up a pass and Luke Holtschlag hauled it in for a touchdown making the score 38-21.

The game clock ran down, and your final was Upper Saint Clair 38, Thomas Jefferson,
