Jake Rafferty only had two touchdown passes on the season. The junior quarterback threw as two touchdown passes to double his touchdown passes and ran another one in as Wallenpaupack defeated West Scranton 34-0 for their fifth straight victory. “That’s our offense, we have a heck of a line, heck of a back and we had to go to our passing game tonight and happy it showed up.” Said Buckhorns head coach Matt Nawrocki.

West Scranton started with the ball and the Buckhorns defense forced a three and out. Ed Kiesendahl scored from eight yards out to make it 6-0 Wallenpaupack with 8:37 remaining in the first quarter. The Invaders drove down the field all the way to the Buckhorns 27 yard but they turned the ball over on downs.

The next Wallenpaupack drive went through late in the first quarter and early in the second quarter. The drive ended with the Buckhorns turning the ball over on downs. After a West Scranton three and out, Wallenpaupack went on a seven play drive that ended with Jake Rafferty finding Ryan Vargo for a two yard touchdown to make it 13-0 with 3:25 remaining in the second quarter.

The Invaders got the ball in good field position but were unable to capitalize and were forced to punt. The Buckhorns got the ball with 1:18 left at the West Scranton 38 yard line. The series went two plays as Rafferty found Ed Kiesendahl for a 15 yard touchdown to make it 20-0 with 36 seconds left and that was the score at halftime.
Wallenpaupack cruised through the second half. Jake Rafferty scored from 18 yards out to make it 27-0 with 8:05 remaining in the third quarter. Ed Kiesendahl scored from three yards out to make it 34-0 with 2:46 remaining in the third quarter. There was no scoring during the fourth quarter as the Buckhorns won their fifth straight win with a 34-0 road victory over West Scranton. Wallenpaupack travels to Abington Heights on Thursday. West Scranton hosts Valley View next week.
