Wallenpaupack runs all over Scranton for third straight win

Wallenpaupack played a complete game tonight at Scranton tonight. However, according to Buckhorns head coach Matt Nawrocki, they still had some work to be done. “That’s still great news when you can get a win and say we can get better.” Nawrocki said. Ed Kiesendahl scored three first half touchdowns as Wallenpaupack took a 54-0 victory over Scranton at Scranton Memorial Stadium.

The Knights started with the ball and got a great kick return from Sean Fairweather and started at the Buckhorn 49 yard line. Facing a third and 13, Chris Manning found Ismael Salazar for a 31 yard completion to the Wallenpaupack 21 yard line. However, Scranton was unable to score and the Buckhorns took over on downs.

Ed Kiesendahl carried the ball four times and finished the drive with a one yard touchdown run for a 7-0 Wallenpaupack lead. Early in the second quarter, Kiesendahl scored from two yards out his second of the night and a 14-0 Buckhorns lead. After a three and out, Kiesendahl scored his third touchdown of the first half for a 20-0 lead.

The Knights next two possessions ended with a pair of interceptions returned for touchdown. Jaxton Pouliot returned the first interception 20 yards for a touchdown. Freshman Cade Pittinger returned an interception 26 yards for a score to make it 34-0 Wallenpaupack. The first half scoring ended with Anthony Kiesendahl scoring on a one yard touchdown run to make it 41-0.
The Buckhorns cruised through the second half. Ben Defeo scored a pair of touchdowns from 10 and 12 yards out to make the final score 54-0. Wallenpaupack takes on Delaware Valley next week. Scranton plays at home against Valley View.
