After Honesdale put the first points on the board, Dunmore scored on their first offensive play of the game on their way to 56 unanswered points as they defeated the Hornets 63-11.  Dunmore RB Weston Yannone had 3 TD runs and FB Xavier Burke had a TD run along with 2 TD receptions and an interception return for another score.

Dunmore won the toss and deferred.  Honesdale took the opening kickoff and had a very methodical drive that ended in a 30-yard field goal from K Alex Valerio to put the Hornets up 3-0 with 3:23 left in the first quarter.

Then the wheels came off for Honesdale.

Dunmore’s opening play of their first offensive possession was a 68-yard TD run from RB Weston Yannone to put Dunmore up 7-3 with 3:08 left in the 1st quarter.

On Honesdale’s next possession, Dunmore LB Xavier Burke was in the right place at the right time as he picked off a pass and returned it for a TD to put Dunmore up 14-3 with 52 seconds left in the 1st quarter.

Yannone wasn’t done yet.  After the Dunmore defense made another stop, the offense began their next possession.  They drove into Honesdale territory and Yannone broke free on a 24-yard run to make it Dunmore 21-3 with 608 left in the half.

On Dunmore’s next possession, the Bucks drove deep into Hornet territory and Yannone struck again, this time a 1-yard run to put Dunmore up 28-3 with 3:55 left in the half.

And the Bucks weren’t done yet.  As the defense continued to make stops, the offense continued to roll.  Burke struck again with a 16-yard TD run to make it 35-3 Dunmore with 3:42 left in the half.

With the opportunity to invoke the mercy rule after the half, Dunmore moved quickly downfield on their last drive of the half and it was QB Brady McCormick hit Burke on a 24-yard TD pass and Dunmore had a 42-3 lead at the half.

Dunmore scored again to start the 2nd half when McCormick threw it to WR Jacob Costanzo for a 47-yard TD pass.  This made it 49-3 Dunmore with 9:40 left in the 3rd quarter.

Honesdale turned the ball over quickly and Dunmore struck again as RB Josef Wolff scored on a 30-yard run, and it was 56-3 Dunmore with 7:24 left in the 3rd quarter.

Honesdale did get on the board again in the 4th quarter when RB Damian Davis scored on a 4-yard run and also ran in the 2-point conversion to make it 56-11 with 10:20 left in the game.  It was too little too late however as Dunmore went on to win it 63-11.

Dunmore remains undefeated at 8-0 and will head on the road to face Riverside.  Honesdale dropped to 6-2 and will head home to face a resurgent Mid Valley squad.
